About Me
Hello there. I'm a web designer and developer currently living in central London.
My main technical skills are Javascript, AJAX, XHTML, CSS - in fact pretty much all the usual front-end suspects. I've also plenty of experience in graphic design, PHP and MySQL. All that said, I'm not really fanatical about any one language or technology. I prefer to seek out new challenges and things to exercise the little grey cells, and pick up any new skills I need along the way. My main passion in development is to create happy, contented websites and applications that deliver exactly what their customers and clients need. This means a big commitment to web standards, cross browser-accessible-usable sites, and fiercely defending the corner of users and customers.
I studied Computer Science at the University of Bristol, graduating with a 2:1 in 2003. I've worked in customer services and as a freelance designer providing complete solutions for small businesses. More recently I've been riding the web 2.0 wave at an exciting start-up building cutting edge web applications.
I am a big music fan, and I will listen to just about anything apart from particularly jazzy forms of jazz. I play the guitar as my main instruments, but I've also got a whole army of other instruments - more than I've got time to learn in fact. Currently I'm trying to find time to practice a violin, a shiny Yamaha flute, a beautiful Alba Low Whistle, and my somewhat esoteric Chasqui Charango.
I also speak a bit of Spanish (the dream of getting to a fluent standard is still alive in the hopefully not-too-distant future) and a bit of German (although recent years of neglect appear to have killed any chance of getting anywhere near fluency in that one).
