Ovatone is a site that aims to provide complete classical music listings for London. Previously you'd need to visit many sites in order to get complete listings; Ovatone brings it all together in one place. It also provides structured information, meaning you can search and browse concerts in a very precise way.

My role covered designing and implementing the whole front end, graphic design, information architechture and navigational structure.

Smixit is an information network called the "Universal Data Exchange". At Smixit people are linked together by shared information and interests. It's a platform for finding, creating or exchanging any kind of information. You can view your data in different ways, combine it, mix it, present it or share it securely.

The cornerstone of the front end work, and the bulk of my role, was as the lead on a team of developers building a cutting edge Rich Internet Application (a really big AJAX program) to access the datastore. The client really nudged at the limits of what's possible with Javascript and AJAX.

It was an object orientated program built on top of the prototype library. The program ran to in the region of 50 classes and 15,000 lines of code. It included a large number of custom built DHTML features, including inplace editing, lightboxes, navigational trees, free moving windows with gravity and manipulation of tabular data. The Javascript client also required a carefully constructed architechture (based broadly on MVC) including neat features such as a cached data model and lazy loading of Javascript.

The Ashover Light Railway Society is an exciting project to return steam trains to Ashover, Derbyshire, and has been in existence for a little over a year.

This robust site, focused on clarity and ease-of-use, include a custom built Content Management System.

Songpoem.co.uk is described as a semi-artificially-intelligent-songwriter-majiggy - in short, website that will set your poems and lyrics to music. Just input some lyrics, the site will do the rest, and give you instant playback and download of the song.

It's jam packed with trickery to write new music based on a few parameters you specify. The name is taken from the old American Songpoem tradition - where recording studios would charge willing punters a fee to set their words to music.

Frank 'n' Stein are "a dangerous concoction of anarchic humour, uncanny impressions and musical entertainment"! This talented duo performs regular gigs with a great blend of music and comedy.

This lean, clean design mirrors the black ties the duo wear on stage.

Lilleshall Pantomime and Drama Group is a local Amateur Dramatics group that puts on a performance once a year.

Their dynamic database driven website is designed to be future proof, as every aspect of the site can be edited from their comprehensive custom built content management system.

This design also included a brand new logo, a custom site search engine, mailing list and auto update and archiving of dynamic content.

Everything that you could possibly want to know about Artiber Autotune Drums but were afraid to ask.

The elegant, blue design is built in clean, accessible and easily-updateable XHTML. The site is also elastic, meaning that it will automatically resize based on the text-size preference of the user. Seems like a silly thing to point out, but you don't get that many these days! (royfox.co.uk is another though :)
